Lighthouse on the headland
A white lighthouse with a red lantern stands on a grassy, rocky headland. Waves break white against the rocks below, and a blue sky with soft clouds and a few gulls fills the top.

Boats in a stone harbour
Three wooden rowing boats — blue, red and yellow — are moored in a calm little harbour beside an old stone wall. The water mirrors their colours, and a headland lies on the horizon under a pale sky.

Puffins on the clifftop
Three puffins with bright orange and grey beaks stand on a grassy clifftop dotted with pink sea thrift. Behind them, green cliffs fall to a deep blue sea.

Seen from above, a white sailboat lies at anchor in a turquoise bay. Dark coral patches show through the clear water, a white beach curves along the shore, and a dense green forest fills the top.

Gulls over the golden surf
Waves roll onto a wide sandy beach in the golden light of evening, and gulls skim low over the foam. Wet sand mirrors the warm sky, and a headland fades into haze in the distance.

Skies are the slow part here. A clear blue sky has a gentle gradient from light at the horizon to deeper blue above; clouds help, so build them as islands. The horizon itself is a perfect guide line for jigsaws and an obvious clue for turn puzzles.
The sailboat bay is seen from above and has no sky at all; its patchwork of coral, sand and deep water is closer to the lagoon picture of the Coral Garden.
